Abstract

The study aimed to identify the level of thinking patterns and self-efficacy among university students.And to examine the relationships between thinking patterns and self-efficacy. it also sought to identify differences in the levels thinking patterns and self-efficacy according based to the variables of gender,university,and academic achievement.The researcher developed two questionnaires; One On thinking patterns scale.and the self-efficacy scale.the study population consisting of (2950) students,and the sample included (400) male and female students from university of Gezira and the Holy Qur'an and Islamic Sciences University.the sample was selected using stratified random sampling method. The study adopted the descriptive correlational approach.The results a high level of thinking patterns among the participants,with a relative weight of (%81,1) and high level of self-efficacy with a relative weight (80%), The findings also showed a positive correlation between thinking patterns and self-efficacy, furthermore there were significant differences in mean scores of thinking patterns among university students according to gender, in favor of males,and according to university,in favor of the University of Gezira,no significant differences were found according to academic achievement.The results also indicated significant differences in the mean scores of self-efficacy according between the average scores of thinking patterns among university students, according to (gender) in favor of males and according to the (university) in favor of Gezira.However,no significant differences were found according to (academic achievement). Based on the results, the study recommends that universities provide training courses and programs to develop the (positive) thinking pattern and avoid the (negative) thinking pattern among university students,and the need for educational institutions to adopt students' ideas to help them transform their ideas into reality that serves students and society.
